Trujillo: day 2

Woke up super late, had a super late shower, and a very good breakfast.
The weather here in Trujillo is awesome (compared to Lima). It has sunny mornings and it isn’t freakishly cold. Its like a constant spring. On the afternoons it gets kinda windy and a little bit cool. But its very comfortable.

Today we’re going to go to some activity with the “Molineros”. It sounds like its gonna be interesting and there will be lots of picture opportunity. Let’s hope so.

Ok, i just finished downloading the pictures of today. Actually there were more videos than photos. 2.3GB of video. Awesome day.

We went again to the “vivero” with my uncle. He had to double check some stuff before going to the “Almuerzo de los Molineros”. After that and some complaining on his part, we went back home to pick up my aunt and my cousin.
The lunch started with an awesome presentation of caballos de paso. Very, very splendid animals. Full of pride and elegance.

After that there was tons of food. They served Seco de Cabrito. Then they barbecued 5 calves. And we enjoyed the beauty of Marinera danced with caballos de paso.

There were also some cock fights, NOTE: i do not support, or enjoy, nor encourage this sort of animal torture, i'm merely reporting on my visit, and the events of the day.

After that a good dinner at a local chifa, and back on the bus to Lima.

:: weekend en trujillo ::

I arrived around 8:30 AM for some reason the trip took more than 8 hours, so lost. such a long time out of Trujillo, didn’t really remember anything.

Worse part, didn’t have my uncle’s address. I was supposed to be staying with him. Anyways, finally got in touch with my aunt, got the address and found out, that my uncle wasn’t there. I spent the day with my little cousins. We visited one of the most modern greenhouse planting grounds in Perú. They were currently planting some grapevine grafts. Everything in an extremely controlled environment.

I took some pics. Will ask for permission to post one. That day there were also some games. There were soccer matches and volleyball matches. And after that there was a barbecue. My cousins built a little bridge over some running water.

We went home, watched some TV with Aaron, while my aunt went with my cousin to some birthday party. I took the time to download my pics and play with some of them. Lightroom is really awesome for this. Pretty sweet software.

My uncle arrived around 11PM. The day ends there.
The night included a long skype call. I am thankful for the talk, missed those conversations.

:: reinventing myself ::

ok, it was time for a change.
a little hair cut did the trick.
up till now its a good joke. i just hope i dun start missing the hair after the laughs have died. nways.

iomonk más monje que nunka, jaja

funny story, u know how u say u can watch movies and they don't have any influence? well. last thing i remember was falling asleep watching "Primavera, Verano, Otoño, Invierno y... Primavera". a korean movie about an orphan being raised as a monk by some venerable old master in a floating sort of island/house. the kid rejects the teachings and goes on his own. after commiting a murder he comes back to seek peace. angry at himself he grabs a knife and shaves his own head. he then serves his sentence but returns after it. to find the master dead. and take his place...

nways, what do you know. today i wake up and with no explanation i suddenly feel like getting my head shaven. jajajaja i had totally forgoten about the movie. at least on the conscious level jajaja. i just now made the possible connection with the movie.

well as always i have the photographic records.

last day in cusco

we visited the q'orikancha (however u spell that). its name means something like golden yard. because it was one of the main inca temples. and it was supposedly filled with gold. nways. when the spanish came. they destroyed it and built a "christian" temple on top of it. in an effort to convert the incas. they just got some terrible sincretism going on, jaja.

we also visited many other local museums, walked around had some lunch. and then in the evening went to have some "coffee" (actually desserts, and juice) to el café de mama oli. i totally recomend it. 5 stars people. hmm not sure the name of the plazuela or street. but u can ask around. people will tell u how to get there.

after that they were celebrating some arequipa holiday outside and there was a band playing, and they had built something like a small fireworks show. we waited around to see it. they gave us some stuff to drink and offered us soup. but they took forever to light the thing so we left. we had already bought the bus tickets for puno and left that night at 10pm (i believe, or something like that)
